Choosing Canvas Size & Framing
Choose the space first, then the artwork size and presentation. Tape a paper outline to the wall to judge the scale before you decide.
01
Measure the available wall
Measure the clear wall width and height, including nearby doors, switches, lamps and furniture. Mark the candidate artwork dimensions using removable paper or tape suitable for your wall finish, then view it from your usual sitting or standing position.
02
Read width and height together
Check both dimensions and the orientation. Do not assume a size label tells you which side is horizontal. Compare the product's own size options and confirm orientation if it is not specified.
03
Print size is not always overall size
A frame can increase the overall width and height. Confirm the outer framed dimensions and frame finish for the chosen presentation; do not calculate an exact overall size without the frame specification.
04
Understand the presentation
Framed and unframed do not, by themselves, confirm whether a print is stretched, rolled or ready to hang. Check the individual product's supplied format and whether hanging fittings are included. Use fittings appropriate for the artwork weight and wall construction.
05
Judge colour in your room
Screen settings and room lighting can affect perceived colour. Product photographs help show the artwork, but a room image should not be treated as a precise scale drawing unless measured dimensions are provided.
06
Check delivery and assistance
Review the delivery and damage-assistance policies before purchase. If there is an issue on arrival, retain the packaging and contact the team with order details and clear photographs so the case can be assessed.
